DBS Group Holdings Ltd is an investment holding, treasury and funding vehicle for the group of subsidiaries it controls. DBS Group Holdings Ltd's main subsidiary is DBS Bank Ltd, which is wholly owned and engaged in a range of commercial banking and financial services, principally in Asia. The bank was set up by the Government of Singapore on 16 July 1968 to take over the industrial financing activities from the Economic Development Board. DBS Group also acts as the primary dealer in Singapore government securities.
As at 31 December 2019, DBS Group had over 10.8 million consumer banking and wealth management customers and over 240,000 institutional banking customers.
DBS Group Holdings Ltd is incorporated and domiciled in Singapore and has its registered office at 12 Marina Boulevard, Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower Three, Singapore. DBS Group Holdings Ltd largest minority shareholder is Singapore state investor Temasek Holdings.

Consumer banking and wealth management - The consumer banking and wealth management segment provides individual customers with a diverse range of banking and related financial services. The products and services available to customers include current and savings accounts, fixed deposits, loans and home finance, cards, payments, investment and insurance products. In the year end 31 December 2019, the consumer banking and wealth management segment accounted for 43.31% (SGD 6,299 million) of total revenue.
Institutional banking - The institutional banking segment provides financial services and products to institutional clients including bank and non-bank financial institutions, government-linked companies, large corporates and small and medium-sized businesses. Products and services comprise the full range of credit facilities from short-term working capital financing to specialised lending. The institutional banking segment also provides global transactional services such as cash management, trade finance and securities and fiduciary services, treasury and markets products, corporate finance and advisory banking as well as capital markets solutions. In the year end 31 December 2019, the institutional banking segment accounted for 41.76% (SGD 6,073 million) of total revenue.
Treasury markets - The treasury markets segment's activities primarily include structuring, market-making and trading across a broad range of treasury products. Income from sale of treasury products offered to customers of consumer banking and wealth management and institutional banking is not reflected in the treasury markets segment, but in the respective customer segments. In the year end 31 December 2019, the consumer treasury markets segment accounted for 6.41% (SGD 932 million) of total revenue.
Others - The others segment includes earnings on capital deployed into high quality assets, earnings from non-core asset sales and certain other head office items such as centrally raised allowances. DBS Vickers Securities and The Islamic Bank of Asia are also included in this segment. In the year end 31 December 2019, the others segment accounted for 8.53% (SGD 1,240 million) of total revenue.
