Macquarie Group Limited (Macquarie) is a multinational independent investment bank and financial services provider that operates in 31 markets.  Macquarie provides asset management, retail and business banking, wealth management, leasing and asset financing, market access, commodity trading, renewables development, investment banking and principal investment.

The company was founded in December 1969, as Hill Samuel Australia Limited, a subsidiary of United Kingdom-base Hill Samuel & Co Limited. As at 31 March 2020, Macquarie employed 15,849 people globally, had total assets of AUD 255.8 billion and total equity of AUD 21.8 billion.

Operating Segments:

Commodities and Global Markets (CGM) - The CGM segment provides offerings across equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, commodities and technology, media and telecoms as well as providing clients with risk and capital solutions across physical and financial markets. CGM also provides tailored specialised asset finance solutions. For the financial year end 31 March 2020, the CGM segment accounted for 36.06% (AUD 4,445 million) of net operating income.

Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) - The MAM segment provides investment solutions to clients across a range of capabilities, including infrastructure and renewables, real estate, agriculture, transportation finance, private credit, equities, fixed income and multi‑asset solutions. For the financial year end 31 March 2020, the MAM segment accounted for 30.28% (AUD 3,732 million) of net operating income.

Banking and Financial Services (BFS) - The BFS segment provides personal banking, wealth management, business banking and vehicle finance products and services to retail clients, advisers, brokers and business clients. For the financial year end 31 March 2020, the BFS segment accounted for 16.53% (AUD 2,037 million) of net operating income.

Macquarie Capital - Macquarie Capital provides advisory and capital raising services, investing alongside partners and clients across the capital structure, and provides clients with specialist expertise, advice and flexible capital solutions. For the financial year end 31 March 2020, the Macquarie Capital segment accounted for 15.46% (AUD 1,906 million) of net operating income.

Corporate - The corporate segment comprises head office and central service groups. For the financial year end 31 March 2020, the corporate segment accounted for 1.66% (AUD 205 million) of net operating income.
