Operating Segments:

Wholesale - The wholesale division is comprised of two business units: Global Markets, which provides financial products and solutions and secondary market liquidity, and Investment Banking, which offers capital-raising and advisory services. The wholesale division provides diverse services to a broad range of clients including corporates, government entities and financial institutions both in Japan and overseas. For the financial year end 31 March 2019, the wholesale segment accounted for 49.73% (JPY 555.4 billion) of net revenue.

Retail - Nomura's retail division provides a variety of financial services to individuals and corporate clients in Japan through its headquarters, branches, call centres, and online. In addition to traditional investment products such as stocks and bonds, the company offers consulting services such as inheritance planning, business succession, fund-raising, and corporate financial advisory based on client needs, financial assets, and life stages. For the financial year end 31 March 2019, the retail segment accounted for 30.40% (JPY 339.5 billion) of net revenue.

Asset management - Nomura Asset Management (NAM) focuses on delivering investment strategies, products and services not only to individual investors in their respective regions, but also to a wide range of investors, including pension funds and institutional investors. For the financial year end 31 March 2019, the asset management segment accounted for 8.76% (JPY 97.8 billion) of net revenue.

Other revenue - For the financial year end 31 March 2019, other revenue accounted for 11.76% (JPY 131.3 billion) of net revenue.
